Notes on Battery Disposal
 
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices that contain batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
 
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
 
You may return used batteries that we currently carry or have previously carried as new batteries in our product range either to us at your own expense or free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you may dispose of the batteries at local collection points.
 
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
 
Used batteries may contain hazardous substances that can harm the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly. Batteries also contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel and can be recycled.
 
The symbols shown on batteries have the following meanings:
 
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
 
For batteries containing a certain amount of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following symbols below the crossed-out wheeled bin indicate the respective hazardous substances:
 
Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% by mass of lead
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% by mass of mercury
